Triumph Herald

A full rebuild - below are some pictures of the chassis restored. The Triumph Herald has been with the same family for many years. I went to have a look at the MOT failure sheet and discovered that it was time for it to be restored properly.

It has only come to me recently hence why not many pictures, however the work I will undertake is as follows. I have taken the vehicle apart to mend the chassis first of all and then build it back up from there. The Chassis will have sections cut away and replaced with new steel, so it will be strong again.

Chevette

This Chevette was built into a road rally car, When the Chevette came to me it was a standard road car 1256 automatic. The customer required a road rally car. I stripped the car completely down to a bare shell, then it was seam welded around all the chassis legs.

I converted all the rear shock turrets from being diagonal to vertical. I strengthened and turreted around the bulk head and wishbone mountings to make the shell alot more stronger, and also I fitted a rollcage. The shell was painted inside and out and underneath. I fitted a rear axle from an opel manta. The engine I fitted is a 2ltr 8 valve, which although was hard to fit at first I made all the required structual changes to the bulk head so it would fit. On return to the customer he fitted some bilstein supension springs etc to complete the job. He went on to road rally the car and continues to have fun with it.

Camper Van

The Camper van is in for some welding, engine work and bodywork. The engine had a full overhall, splitting the crank cases to put new bearings in, also new barrels, pistons and heads were fitted, and now runs perfectly with no oil leaks or bearing noises.
